RunChasr is a running app built around one feature: racing a "ghost" of your own past runs. This policy covers what the app accesses, why, and — most importantly — what it doesn't do with it.
RunChasr uses your location during a run to measure distance and pace, and to draw your route. This requires access to Location Services, which iOS will ask you to grant the first time you start a run.
RunChasr works fully with "While Using the App" access. If you additionally grant "Always" access, tracking can continue if your screen locks or your phone goes in a pocket mid-run — this is optional and only ever used while a run is actively in progress. Location is never collected outside of an active run.
With your permission, RunChasr writes each completed run to Apple Health as a workout (distance, duration, and calories), so it shows up alongside your other activity. RunChasr does not read any existing Health data from your device.
Run history, routes, notes, and settings are stored locally in an app data container shared between your iPhone and Apple Watch, so both devices can show the same run history. This data is not transmitted to us or to any third party, and RunChasr has no backend server that receives it.
If you tap Share on a completed run, RunChasr generates an image card and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. What you do from there — message it, post it, save it — is entirely your choice; RunChasr doesn't automatically post or transmit anything on your behalf.
RunChasr is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
If RunChasr's data practices change — for example, if a future version adds optional cloud sync — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
